Temporary Staff Accountant

Manufacturing Company | Brooklyn Park, MN | 100% Onsite

Contract / Temporary - anticipated 4-6 months contract duration

Pay: $30-$38/hr DOE

Our client is seeking a hands-on Staff Accountant to support the accounting team during a critical transition period. This role will focus on inventory accounting, account reconciliations, transaction cleanup, and supporting month-end close activities. The ideal candidate is highly proficient in QuickBooks and can quickly identify and resolve accounting discrepancies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform inventory accounting analysis, reconciliations, and variance investigations.
  • Research and resolve inventory discrepancies, including identifying and correcting inaccurate inventory records.
  • Review balance sheet accounts and identify accounting issues requiring cleanup or adjustment.
  • Support month-end close activities and help bring financial reporting current.
  • Investigate and resolve A/R, A/P, and general ledger discrepancies.
  • Analyze historical transactions and ensure accurate postings within QuickBooks Online.
  • Assist with system-related accounting issues resulting from software migrations and integrations.
  • Support process improvements and documentation of accounting procedures.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate financial data and reporting.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of accounting experience
  • Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online; prior QuickBooks migration or cleanup experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of balance sheet reconciliations, general ledger accounting, and month-end close.
  • Ability to independently identify issues, troubleshoot discrepancies, and recommend solutions.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Manufacturing, distribution, or inventory-heavy business experience highly preferred.
